About Relent
Built for the moments when the feeling is real, but the words are not ready.
Relent is a reflection app for people who overthink, spiral, replay conversations, or find themselves stuck in a feeling they cannot quite name. It is quiet, private, and designed for ordinary hard days.
Why Relent exists
Most people feel something before they can explain it. A tightness in the chest that has no clear cause. A mood that arrived mid-afternoon without announcement. A loop that keeps running even after you have already thought about it many times.
The common advice — journal about it, talk to someone, breathe through it — is good advice. But it assumes you know what you are feeling well enough to do those things. Many people do not. The feeling is real, but the language is not there yet.
Relent was built for that gap. Not for crisis, not for clinical care — but for the ordinary moments when something is present and you need somewhere to put it before you can do anything else with it.
What Relent is
Relent is a guided check-in. You open the app, choose the closest word for what you are feeling, and rate its weight. The app offers a possible lens for what might be underneath — not a diagnosis, but an invitation to consider.
You can accept the lens, push back on it, or refine it. Then one small suggested step: a breath, a sentence, a question to sit with. Nothing demanding. Just something that fits where you actually are.
Over time, check-ins build a picture of your own patterns — the recurring loops, the feelings that keep returning, what has helped and what has not. That understanding belongs to you, not to an algorithm or an ad network.
What Relent is not
Relent is not therapy. It does not replace the work that happens with a qualified therapist, counsellor, or psychiatrist. It is not a crisis tool. If you are in immediate danger or may hurt yourself, please contact emergency services or a crisis line.
It is not a productivity app. It will not tell you to fix your emotions faster or become more optimised. It has no hustle in it. It is designed for the slow, private work of understanding yourself a little more clearly over time.
It is not a diagnostic tool. The patterns it reflects are lenses, not verdicts. You can disagree with what it offers. You are always the authority on your own experience.
Built with care about privacy
Check-ins stay on your device by default. Encrypted backup is opt-in, not automatic. We do not sell your data. We do not train third-party models on your words.
Relent is designed for sensitive moments. That shapes how data is handled at every level. For the full picture, see our Privacy Policy and Safety Policy.
When it is available
Relent is in beta, with iOS launching in summer 2026. Android will follow shortly after. A small group of people are getting early access — if you want to be among them, the waitlist is open.
We will write once, quietly, when your invite is ready. No marketing drip. No countdown pressure. Just a note when the moment comes.
